On Thursday, June 20, 2024, the Polk County Historical Association (PCHA) will hold its 50th Annual Meeting and Pioneer Luncheon at the spectacular Bonnet Springs Park Event Center in Lakeland. You won’t want to miss this year’s signature event, as it marks the PCHA’s Golden Anniversary. Attendees will enjoy a delicious buffet followed by the presentation of our 2024 Polk Pioneers. Invitations will be mailed in May, and tickets are $35. More information to come.

The Polk County Historical Association publishes its historical quarterly as a service to its members and to the wider historical community. Polk Pioneers

Since 1975, the PCHA has encouraged and supported the collection of oral histories of Polk County residents. Member organizations of the PCHA Heritage Partner Committee seek potential candidates from their communities who are 75 years or older and have lived in Polk County for 50 years or more. These Polk Pioneers participate in an interview to document their lives and contributions to our rich history.
